Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get started?
Contact us to schedule an “instict test”. This in an hour where we introduce your dog to livestock to see if they have herding drive and are good candidates for herding training. This is also a time where we can answer questions and discuss our training methods.
How can I schedule a lesson?
You can contact Heather by email or phone for all inquiries and scheduling. We offer private lessons and instinct tests during the week, evenings, and on Saturdays. We like to reserve Sundays for family and farm work.
Where in Colorado are you located ?
We are located just 10 minutes north of Fort Collins, CO and 15 minutes west of the Highway I-25.
What equipment do I need?
You will need to bring a buckle collar and leash to your session. Treats can be used outside the stock area but are not allowed in the training ring. Water, dip tanks, stock sticks, flags, tie-outs, and long lines are all provided. If you would like to bring your own equipment, you are welcome to do so.
How often do you recommend scheduling a lesson?
We highly recommend lessons be scheduled weekly at a minimum to see desirable training results. For trial preparation, twice weekly lessons is encouraged.
